“Ow!” Alain exclaims, as he turns around to see three very small creatures standing somewhat menacingly in the dark. “Uhh, hi..?”
The small blue ball jumps at Alain, knocking him off balance. A rose bush pops out of the ground, catching him like a very pointy net.
“Lights out clubhead!” The gray lizard shouts, before a flash of black knocks out Alain.

As Alain awakens, he is blinded by a migraine, groaning. “Alain?” A familiar voice happily whispers.
“Riko?” Alain groans, pained.
“Close enough,” Rika replies. “Look, Ned’s here too.” Alain looks over, and Ned waves.
“Did three small animals get you guys too?” Alain asks.
“Yeah, they are surprisingly strong,” Ned says. “We were heading out and they ambushed us.”
A light flickers to life as Sapliz walks up to the three. “Alright, what do you guys want with small critters like us? You pluck us from our homes, and study us like old rocks. Why?”
Rika is confused. “We aren’t doing any research on creatures, we are trying to find more efficient methods of multiversal travel.”
“Uh-huh, uh-huh. Then why am I here?”
