battles will be hard if you just spam moves, you need to have strategy and not just mindlessly pretty buttons

I do. Though it mostly consists of Solar Beam, Leaf Storm and Night Slash, my strategy has made it possible to get through the Academy Ace Tournament in SV without a single faint, making it into a money farm. So yes, battles are hard, but they are SUPPOSED TO BE. If they weren't, why even bother playing?

... I don't really care about EV's and other "competitive" stats tbh... But non-attacking moves are ok for me.
