Well there's no need to change the label necessarily. I've heard stories of former lesbians/gay men transitioning but they're partners didn't really care.
Instead of I love (gender) you could just say that you love your partner.
However if you feel like this is not gonna help with your relationship you could breakup. There's no shame in liking one gender.
