Hamas began in 1987. There certainly wasn't peace around there prior to 1987. Not even close.

And the Taliban was established in 1994, yet they didn't take power until 2021. I get that Hamas won't take power straight away

And you'll notice that when we defeated the Taliban in 2002, peace didn't magically fall from the sky then either.
