Wow, mojang should totally make swords and axes throwable and completely remove the value of tridents

I mean they made crossbows when they still had bows but managed to change it up a bit. I think throwable axes could be cool but not swords. Plus tridents are more than a throwable weapon they can also be movement

The riptide enchantment literally removes the ability to throw the trident, making it part of throwing. Throwing axes would be a bit too op, considering how easy it is to craft them. Also I've thrown axes irl, and you can't just yeet an axe used to chop wood, you need a specialised throwing axe, and most of the time they're barely sharp enough to stick into wood, let alone do any damage.

Crossbows have unique enchantments, and are a lot more expensive to craft or obtain then bows. You can craft an axe with a single tree.

True but still making an enchantment for throwing axes I feel like would be fair. I understand the thing abt the type of axe irl but this is minecraft.

Not really, it would either just look flashy and not be useful, or have some guy on your server get a full shoulder box of iron axes and ruin everyone's day with practically a minigun

You make a good point but I still think it could be a fun item as long as it has a cooldown or smth that ranges over ever throwing axe you have

It would be fun, but not really practicle
