It's legit ridiculous that I can't post art in an art stream. MULTIPLE pieces of art, such as Emesis Blue have been made in Source Filmmaker. I spent an hour and a half on creating art in source filmmaker, and to say that SFM isn't art is just unbelievably ignorant and dense.

Plus, you said in the note that you allow announcement temps and digital art (SFM IS LITERALLY DIGITAL ART) so I would've been fine if I posterized it or used some AI app to turn it into a drawing or made an announcement temp out of it or something.

On top of this, disapproving one's art because the quality is poor, you do not like it, or you do not see it as art is a horrible way to greet a beginner artist. That's how you discourage them. It's like teaching a child how to ride a bike. If you yell at them everytime they crash instead of cheering the on and motivating them everytime they actually ride 5 or more feet without crashing, they'll be discouraged and more likely to give up and not want to try again. It's the same with artists. If you actually approve a beginner artist's posts and let others see their art, they'll be more encouraged to post more art, instead of being discouraged and wanting to give up.

Sure, one disapproval isn't much, but straight up saying their creation isn't art can discourage them more than you think. Especially when it IS art.

I find this utterly, if not beyond ridiculous.

Plus, art comes in all shapes and sizes. It's not just limited to some basic drawing or painting or sketch or doodle or flipaclip animation. It can be a million things. Heck, even drawing in the sand is making art. Almost anything can be art.

I see it as: Art is something beautiful created by oneself using effort and/or creative imagination. Cleaning a room is making art, because to an average person, a clean room is not beautiful, but it's beautiful compared to a dirty room. Just like how my Source Filmmaker animations are art. They might not be marvelous to an average person, but they're beautiful to me and I'm proud of them and that's what matters. It doesn't matter what you see it as, it's still art and always will be.

SFM is art and I will die on that hill. Before you call SFM not art again, at least watch Emesis Blue, and at the very least watch the trailer for it. It's 3 to 108 minutes of your time.

(Okay so, first off this is MY OPINION, n I have read all the points except i aint watching the movie thing) so, what I personally think about it is as if your using a base pretty much. N ion see anything directly against that in the rules but it may, in a sense break repost (from what i understand), and technically yes, you added something or a "creative touch" and they have like templates , but permission has been given from the creator to use? (Not meant in a offensive way, I haven't been able to read into it sm 😂😂) but if that is the case then even so if you added on to someone else's original idea or concept, credit should still be given. Again js my opinion ‼️
