maybe the shop could be seasonal, so like once every month or two the shop rotates, including new banners and pfps
and their could be a contest for people to design a banner/pfp for each season (within a designated stream)
The winner gets their banner/pfp design added to the shop (with a link to their account) and a 1k or more points as a reward

IN ADDITION TO THIS
the user who designed the pfp/banner would get them added to their inventory (in the menu which shows your coin amount which you currently have, banners and pfps)

I think that the shop idea could "pull away" the memeing idea because all you'd have to do is to simply upvote a lot and you'd get enough coins to buy stuff on the shop.
Then, most users would stop making memes because they're too busy grinding coins all day!
And after that, the entirety of the imgflip website will (probably) evolve into a coin-grinding website!
So I don't think that this would be a good idea in the long run...

this is actually genius. or maybe you could sell your points for more customization. for example, 5K coins for a red color in your custom pfps. Or maybe 10K for a yellow username.

Or change your username before the month is up. Or remove that entirely

I said it before and I'll say it again, Imgflip isn't a video game.

Doesn't mean we can't spice the appearance a bit, cause let's be honest, black, grey and white is kinda boring on your pfp

[1] The whole point of keeping the options limited is to:
A) Prevent trolling
B) Encourage getting pro mode

[2] Imgflip has a variety of other non-custom pfps

just trying to make the site more… Colorful/fun hence it being a meme website.

(A) Imgflip already is fun
(B)Adding more pfps would make it more colourful but not more fun
(C) More colourful ≠ More fun
