Mr: *just walking down the street* ..hmm?.. WHAT? *starts running to Funnyguy House*

*When he arrived, he seemed tired, as if he had ran here."

Lauren: Oh, hi!
Lian?: We've been waiting...

Mr: *panting* hey guys..
*Thinking* wait, how did he know I was coming? Meh, Lauren probably told him

Lian?: You seem tired, Sport. Why not sit down and rest?

Mr: *visibly confused* ..ok..
*Thinking* why is he talking like Dave miller

(He's acting strange... he doesn't seem shy.)

Mr: *he's acting weird.. I'll address that later, mabye I'll have an understanding as to what going on then*
So, Lian.. I heard there was something you wanted us to see?

"Yes. Indeed there was."

Mr: well, uh, let's go see it!

(Lian grabs Mr and pulls him away from "Benny".)

Mr, firmly: don't touch me.
*He went back to "Benny"*

Lauren: Mr, please... step away from him. Please.

Mr:.... Lauren, I have to do this. Not only has my brain been telling me this my whole time, but now... *briefly looks at "Benny"*.. my heart is.

Lian?: Fine, then! Two versus two!

Mr:..what? I don't wanna hurt you guys either!

Lauren, you can't be agreeing to this, can you?

"...I'm sorry."

Mr: but.. *his pleading look quickly turned into a stone cold stare, before he went into a position that was half hug and half meat shield for "Benny"*

(About fifteen minutes pass of a "boss fight" against "Lian" because I'm bad at writing fights. Not much progress has been made.)
Lian?: Ughhh, this is going nowhere!

"But that'd be unfair. You can't even beat me."

Well if it's so unfair, make it fair. Leave Lian. Make yourself more vulnerable.

"No. I don't wanna."

Well then. Make me stronger.

"Nah."

SO WHAT DO WE DO THEN?

(Fade hands Lian a typewriter.)
"If your friend here can guess my name, something good might happen. But if not... well, you'll find out! Uee hee hee!"

How did you get a typewriter here?

Mr: how do you have hammerspace? Nevermind. Lian, I believe in you. You can do this. Also, sorry for knocking Lauren out, I will pay for everything.

(They find themselves back in Inchtown.)

Hm. Looks like we're back in Inchtown. I think I saw the missing poster over there. Hey, uh, can we take a second to rest? I want to defeat Fade as much as you, but I am tired, and the water from the sewers is making my cuts sting *reminder he's covered in cuts and bruises from the fight*

"It's so pretty under the night sky... the permanent night sky..."

Yeah.. WHAT?
*Mr tenses right back up*

"Oh, you haven't heard?"

WHAT? WHAT? WHAT!?

"It's all that faker's doing."

"Some purple shadow taking the form of me. He doesn't seem to have a name, so we all call him Benny."

..well.. Firstly.. I don't see any short term threat the poses. It's actually kind of nice.. Secondly, where is "Benny"?

"He's probably lurking around right now..."

Well, I'm sure we can work something out with Benny.

Mr: ..Lian.. this isn't like you.. you're usually calm.. you'd go out of your way to avoid conflict.. Please just give peace a chance.. If that doesn't work.. we can fight, alright?

*Mr is saddened by Lian's choice*
Mr:...
*Mr starts to walk away*

"Come back."

*Mr stopped for a second, then came back, thinking it was futile to resist him he just sad silently next to Lian for a bit before..*
Mr: Fine.. if you want to fight... we can fight..

(Later, when Mr gets there...)

*knocking on door*

HELLO?

*sniff* Someone..? Please..?

SOMEONE??

(Looks like no one's home...)

*sniff* makes sense.. they're probably looking for him.. *as he makes his way towards his house to see if he's there, he called Lauren*

Lauren: Hm?

Mr: *voice breaking a bit* Hey.. uh.. I.. I saw the poster.. I'm so sorry..

"Huh? What poster?"

Mr: 0_0.. What do you mean what poster? I just saw it! LIAN'S MISSING!

"...E-eheh... good one! Lian's right here!"

Mr, seriously: I just saw it. I'm not gonna joke about Lian being gone. Ever. I'll send you a picture.

Yeah sure

(Lian grabs Mr's arm.)

Mr: Lian. This is a sewer. We could get a disease. There is feces, urine, and possibly hostile animals down here.

(He gives Mr a look that says "it's the only way...")

*After a second of wincing he reluctantly progressed*

(Deep in the sewer, this guy is kneeled on the floor, staring at the wall. Character designed by Garlot, thank you Garlot.)

Mr: *under breath* ..is that a person?
*Normally* Hello?

"Oh... hello."

Who are you? Why are you here?

"I used to be a butler for the ghost of that giant castle. But I retaliated, and I was cast away."

Really? We got sent down here too. Long story, I think he was trying to be this guy *points to Lian* but I found out, so a trapdoor sent me to a pit, and that pit led here.

(Before Lian can respond, a trapdoor opens under him and Mr.)

*Mr screams. For a guy like him, he has a loud scream*

(They eventually land in a very dark area of Fade's castle.)

Mr: Ow.. man, that hurts.. Lian, you ok?

(He nods.)

Mr: *hugs Lian* things will get better.. there's gonna be an up.. something good has to happen..

(He looks doubtful.)

*Mr sees this and knows he isn't fooling anyone, so he just saddens and hugs Lian tighter, doing the typical things he does, but more intense* we're gonna be ok.. we.. everything will be fine..

Everything.. everything is gonna... *Breaks down and cries*

(Lian pats Mr on the back reassuringly.)

*sniff* ..I.. I'm scared, Lian.. I'm usually this big strong guy who doesn't scare easily, but.. now I feel weak.. small.. dwarfed next to that.. THING'S power..

"Follow me, everyone. This is something you'll never forget..."

*Mr followed what was probably Lian*

(He's walking towards a tall stone castle, jutting far into the sky, which... now that Mr looks harder, the sky is night, despite it only being 5:00 PM.)

Mr: *quietly* what?

Mr: Uhm.. wasn't the sun up a second ago?

"Don't worry about that, it's fine!"

*thinking* He's trying to gaslight me... not a good sign.. I'll just pretend to fall for it
*Saying* alright

"We're almost there, everyone."

It's in here..? This doesn't look very structurally sound..

Well.. okay

"You trust me, don't you...?"

..of course I do, Lian! We're best friends!
*Thinking* no no not at all not in the slightest I have a better chance getting out of this safely with a grizzly bear angry at me

Well.. uh.. let's see what's inside!

(Eventually, they reach a walkway in front of a stained-glass window. The image the window depicts might be important.)

Mr, while running: Wow! You're fast!
*Thinking* you aren't usually very active...

"..."

*Mr reaches the top of the stairs, tired. NOW he tries to be as close to the center as possible*

"We've made it."

*panting and tired, he lays down on his back near the center, looking up at the sky* ...heh... pretty good.. good view, huh?

"Yes. See the town of Inchtown down there?"

*stands up in the center and looks* oh, yeah... it's.. it's actually very pretty up here... the town looks so small.. *puts arm around Lian's shoulder. His tension is eroding*

"It's so peaceful... the residents seem much quieter than usual, huh?"

..yeah.. it sure is..

*Mr stops to look for a moment, making sure to take a picture of it this time*

*the image is...*

(It depicts Lian, smiling, as a ghost with a purple top hat controls him with puppet strings. A purple Lian is in the corner, watching in distress. What does it mean...?"

*Mr takes a picture of it, before bolting off to whatever lies ahead. Something tells him he wants to stay away from Lian for as long as possible*

(But no matter how quickly Mr runs, Lian is somehow in front of him... Lauren seems to not notice anything off.)

Mr: *thinking* THIS IS BAD THIS IS BAD THIS IS BAD OF ALL THE TIMES FOR LAUREN TO BE DUMB THIS IS THE WORST TIME. IT'S USUALLY JUST CUTE, BUT NOW ITS BAD.

Mr: ..uh, hey, Lian.. you, uh, mind moving a bit?

"What do you mean?"

Mr: could you, uh.. step to the side? I'm tryna go up the stairs!

"Oh, alright."
(He steps aside, but makes sure to stay right next to Mr.)

(Lian looks very nervous and distressed.)

*Mr then realized how hard things must be for him right now. His mom is unconscious and his voice and identity have been stolen. He's scared and sad, and Mr knew just what to do. He hugged Lian* It's all gonna be okay.. I know things are scary, but they're gonna get better. I'm sorry for what I did to your mom, and I will pay for whatever she needs to get better.

(He points at the typewriter, which has ten missing keys.)

Mr: The typewriter? What about it? Are there any keys we need missing?

(He shrugs, but he still seems stressed.)

Mr: what is it? What? Is it something about the typewriter?

(Lian just types something in.)
Fade: Wrongamundo, little nobody! Who would name their kid that?!

*Mr reads it. It says..*

"Benny."

Mr:.. that's the fake name he gave you? Did he say this was his name?

(Lian sits down on a nearby bench, and pats the spot next to him invitingly.)

*Has a seat and sighs, then looks off in the distance to see Twilight Castle*
We'll beat Fade, Lian. I'm sure of it.

(He gently hugs Mr.)

Mr: ..you really want a hug? I'm sweaty and smelly, you really sure?

(He nods.)

Mr: well, then, whatever you want! *Mr hugged back*

(Mr can feel himself slowly healing.)

Mr:
*Thinking* What a good hugger, I can feel better already..
*Speaking* We'll beat him, Lian. We can do it. We can beat Fade..

(Mr can feel Lian's fear melting away.)

*Mr feels better. His bruises and cuts don't hurt. He feels calm and content*

"It... it can't be... NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! HOW?! I think I'm gonna pass out..."

Good.. good.. I hope you ARE fine.. now, uh.. how do we put Lian back in Lian?

"He's already got his body back, look!"
(Lian does, in fact, have his body back.)

*Mr ran up to and hugged Lian* Oh, Lian, I'm so sorry you had to have that happen to you.. that must've been so hard.. How did he get to you?

"I... I don't know. One second, he turned into a shadow version of me... the next second, I WAS the shadow."

Aw, Lian.. I'm so sorry.. That had to have been so hard, and scary..

*Mr starts pointing at the picture and then at Lian and shadow Lian frantically, making muffled sounds similar to "SEE?! SEE!?"*

*to Lauren*

(Fade falls over, and leaves Lian's body.)
"Wh... KILLJOYS! I'm outta here!"
(He leaves, Lian gets his body back, and Mr can speak again.)

Mr: SEE LAUREN?! DO YOU UNDERSTAND!?

Lauren: Y-you mean... the person who I thought was my son... was that shadow-freak the whole time?!
(Fade peeks his head back into the scenario.)
Fade: Uh, yeah, I have a name-

Mr: YES! AND HE'S NOT A FREAK! FADE DID THIS!

(Lauren hugs Lian as tightly as she can.)
"Oh, Lian, I'm so sorry... That must have been awful..."

Mr: I'm not mad at you, but.. You would've killed me for defending some harmless person.. just coz your son said so. You believed everything he said and just completely ignored every piece of evidence I brought up. You just believed he had a castle in the middle of nowhere? Lauren, that's not good. You need to use you head sometimes.

"I just... I trust him too much. I need to be better. I'm sorry."

("Benny" shows up.)

Mr:.. is that "Benny"? He doesn't look all that mean to me. He kinda looks.. scared. A little sad, even.

"Don't let him trick you, Mr..."

Mr: ..he's not even actually trying to hurt me..

("Benny" makes a pleading motion with his hands.)

*Mr stepped forward, getting close to Benny*

(He tries to speak, but can't.)
"Mr, get away from that faker! You don't know what he can do!"

*Mr stood for a second before giving "Benny" a hug*

"Step away from him."

*Mr turned his head around (bagheads can fully swivel heads) and looked at Lian before turning his head back around and continuing to hug "Benny"*

"But he's..."

Mr: one second.. *sounds of running over the phone*

"What? What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Mr: .. it's gone.. simply gone.. there's not even a hole where the nail was...

"In the forest by Inchtown."

..the poster said that's where he was last seen... uh, mind if I ask, why are you there anyway?

"Lian asked us to come here."

I know.. I'm so sorry for you.. at least I caught on fast.. I don't know what would've happened if I didn't.. I'm so sorry this happened.. after we both take a nice shower, I'll take you somewhere nice..

"S-sounds nice...! But look at the sky..."
(The sun is finally rising. It seems Fade's curse is broken.)

Huh... look at that.. *Mr sits down and looks at the sky* it's.. beautiful.. more pretty than and sunrise I've ever seen.

(Lian and Lauren sit down next to Mr.)

*Mr sighs in relief*

Lian: The horrors are over...

Yeah.. things are gonna be ok.. *this time he sounds like he means it*

"...Yes they are."

*Mr put his arms around Lauren and Lian*
So.. where do you feel like going, Lian?

(Lauren immediately falls over, unconscious. "Lian" doesn't seem too phased. "Benny", however, is greatly concerned.)
Lian?: Ughhhh... she was my only ally.

*Mr becomes immediately distraught*
oh no. No NO NO NO! LAUREN! IM SO SORRY! I didn't mean to hurt you that bad! *Feels pulse* ..still alive.. oh, man.. what was I thinking... I didn't mean to hurt you this bad.. *sniff*..
*Mr started crying over her*

Lian?: Uhh...

...what's wrong with you? Your mother is in the floor unconscious and you're just standing there!? *Mr then looks at "Benny", and noticed he acted in a certain way.. in a familiar way..*

"Hey, stop looking at Benny like that."

*Mr looks at Lian.. then Benny.. then his phone... and then has the face one has when they have an epiphany* YOU.

"...Eh?"

*charging towards what is pretending to be Lian* BENNY!!!

*Mr thinks for a moment* mabye.. mabye the typewriter was a hint.. it was old, broken.. faded.. well, thanks for telling us.. we're looking for an exit. Would you care to join us?

"This is where I live now. However, keep going past this room, and an exit is close. But before you leave, the chest on your left may contain something of your interest."

..what do you mean?

"See for yourself."

..I can still leave if I take it, right?

"Of course."

Well.. we should probably see what's in there, right Lian?

"Follow me, there's an elevator."

*oh ok*
Mr: "...uh... are there any stairs...?"

"There are, but the elevator is much faster."

Uhm... I, uh, I'd rather take the stairs!

"No, the elevator is quicker. Come on."

*Mr entered the elevator*

("Lian" presses a button. Nothing happens.)

*Mr is already freaking out, despite not being claustrophobic or anything*

"Oh well. Guess we've gotta take the stairs after all. Haha!"

Mr: *PHEW* "Oh, well.. haha..." *Mr goes running up the stairs*

"...He seems fine to me, Mr... I don't know what you're talking about."

Mr: But-- *sigh* nevermind... whether or not Lian is innocent, this old building seems.. fragile.

"Oh, it's fine. It IS his castle, after all!"

Mr: ...what? WHAT DID I JUST HEAR YOU SAY? YOU AREN'T QUESTIONING THE FACT THAT YOUR SON BOUGHT A CASTLE?!? *shaking Lauren by collar*

Mr: *Mr goes to yell at her again, but realizes it won't do any good. She firmly believes in Lian. So he lets go of her and followed Lian, staying quiet and keeping an eye on him*

Mr: ...

Mr: ..let's just go..

*Mr is covered in bruises and cuts, exhausted, still vigilantly defending "Benny"* Lauren.. are you really going to beat me to death because I'm not going to hurt this harmless lookalike..?

Mr: ..the fact that this is a hard decision for you to make is SICKENING. Think about it. You're killing someone. Not just anyone. One of your best friends. All because your son said so.

*Mr can only stare in horror, as he realizes there's nothing he can do to convince her* ..n-no.. No, NO, NO!! WHAT DID HE SAY? THAT "BENNY" OVER HERE WANTS TO BURN DOWN AN ORPHANAGE OR SOMETHING? WELL, I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU!! IT'S ALL A LIE! ONE BIG LIE! BUT I CANT CONVINCE YOU OTHERWISE BECAUSE YOU'RE BLINDLY FOLLOWING YOUR SON!!! *Mr is back to being furious by the end of the sentence*

Fade: Alright, Sport, since you made your way back up here, give me another good laugh! It's really amusing to watch you try to guess a name you don't even know. So hit me one more time! What's my name?
(He hands Lian the typewriter again.)

I SAID IT RIGHT WHEN I GOT UP HERE, FADE! GIVE IT UP! TELL HER! TELL HER THE TRUTH! BECAUSE THERE'S NO WAY I WILL EVER CONVINCE HERE, EVEN THOUGH YOU JUST REVEALED YOURSELF AND HAVE HAMMERSPACE!! GIVE UP THE FACADE!

(Halfway through Mr's first word, Fade silences him. im also gonna pretend you didn't say Fade's name earlier lol)

*DANG YOUR PLOT ARMOR FADE!!!!*
*anyway*
*Mr gets furious that he got his talking privileges taken, but realizes there's no point. He puts the f key into the typewriter, but realizes there's no d key. After a brief moment, he typed "F a 4th letter e". He thinks that this will count as incorrect, so he gives the paper to Lauren and gestures for her to read it*

[wait wait hold on the only required letter missing was F]
(Lian types in "Fade.")

*nvm then*
*Mr seems happy, but then pulls out pen (he carries one coz he artist) and starts drawing a shadowy top hatted figure puppeteering Lian, while a ghostly shadowy Lian*

Fade: WH-WHAT did you just type?!

*Mr makes what sounds like muffled laughter as he points at Lian's body*

(Despite his situation, Lian almost seems... happy.)

Mr: We can do it..
...wait a sec

LAUREN'S STILL IN THERE

(With that, he looks terrified again.)

*Mr grabbed Lian, put him on his back, and RAN. HE RAN LIKE NEVER BEFORE.*

(When they reach Twilight Tower, the elevator is working again.)

*Mr didn't even try the elevator. He was still running. He had already bashed the door in an was already going up the stairs. He was going at such speed that he was able to run on the walls of the spiral staircase

(Eventually, he reaches the top of Twilight Tower.)
