The leaderboard updates once or twice daily, it's really slow

No you don't get it. Just a couple months ago before you were really here it would update every time that you gained points. Now it barely updates.

I think that it updates monthly or something...

They just gotta click a button or run a command or smth. If they can add thousands of memes an hour via fun stream, they should at least be able to update the leader board at least weekly.
