i once online dated and i regretted it

me and them were friends, we met because of a webcomic called homestuck
see i liked them it was just. i didnt know them long enough. and not even two months into knowing me they asked me out
i accepted because oh why not. i was lonely anyway
we (it was mostly them) kept making plans to meet up in person because they only lived like 2 states away from me and said they were gonna move to my state at some point
and after about 8 months of this they moved. but not to my state. in fact, farther away from it.
around this point i didnt want to be in the relationship anymore because i was tired of it. i broke up with them because the relationship was sort of wrecking my mental health and it was too much for me to handle.
now i dont date online anymore. if im gonna be in a relationship, im gonna have to know the person irl

also they were really clingy
i was grounded from my phone for like 3 months once and when i was finally able to get it back i saw all the messages they sent me during that time and one of them was where they threatened to break up with me if i didnt respond

i did love them, it was just hard for me to keep things going
