In the end of Far Cry 2, you join forces with the evil arms dealer you were hunting, the Jackal. Both military forces in an African civil war are joining together to create a dictatorship in the country, so you both work together to get as many civilians out of the area as you can. You realize that The Jackal is doing this to help people, so you both put your differences aside for the greater good. The Jackal calls the war “cancer”, and all of it needs to die. Including you and him. Throughout the game, you worked with both sides on the civil war and killed different important people, and eventually you end up killing the leaders of both factions. In the end, both you and the Jackal kill yourselves. And 2 million refugees escaped to neighboring countries because of your actions.
The journalist from the start of the game is the only surviving member of the group. He documented the whole conflict.
Leagues better than the ending of Far Cry 5 where the whole map gets nuked and nothing you did amounts to anything.
The coolest part about the open world is the missions are seamless. There are no cutscenes between missions to let them load. You just do them. THAT is how an open world should function!
