Alright,
So, Rain World is a 2D survival platformer, as previously stated. You play as a Slugcat, a small, generally weak omnivorous creature, trying to survive in the ruins of an ancient civilization, you need to find food to hibernate in a rare safe zone so you can survive the Rain
The Rain being a bonecrushing Downpour that comes every 10 or so minutes and is completely inescapable unless you're in a safe zone (called shelters) and have enough food to hibernate (which can vary from 3 to 12, depending on the Slugcat)
Of course the Rain isn't the only hazard, there's a lot of predators out there, also fighting to survive, and it's canon that Slugcats taste delicious
And of course, aside from the Rain another big part of the plot is that you're stuck in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, every time you die you awake in another almost identical universe, at the place where you last slept, and not to reveal too much, let's just say the final goal of the main campaign is to, well, find a way to kill yourself, for good.
Rain World is an amazing game with amazing visuals and a beautiful soundtrack, however I wouldn't recommend it, it is masochistically hard and I, despite having over 100 hours, have only beaten 1 of the 9 campaigns, so yeah, that's shits hard
