Kitty was the first one possessed by the darkness A.K.A. the Eclipse. She went insane and corrupted the inhabitants of her realms, to stop her and ensure peace, she was defeated by her brother and trapped in a crystal leaving her in suspended animation. It has been over two thousand years and the Eclipse has returned and is controlling Frost, with Miam (her brother) being dead Kitty A.K.A. Mune or "Mother" is the only one who knows how to get rid of the Eclipse. That explain it?
