They were ambushed by the Dirkalfs and had to defeat a nutcracker soldier made by them; 10 months after the crash, Gingerbread Man tracked Candystripe to a bar in Alaska; The 2 navies then converged on the Dirkalf fortress, where a short battle ensued before Gingerbread Man and Captain Shade made peace; 3 months later though a Dirkalf spaceship crashed in the Arctic and Dirkalf pirates demanded to know where the labyrinth of ice was; G-Man, Candy, Shade and Murk, along with their families, traveled into the labyrinth; They freed mutants Montie and Sal from evil Dirkalf scientists deep in the labyrinth; Gingerbread Man fought General Nox, who had been ruling the planet Saltu as a military junta for 10 years; They then found a portal that took them to the Nicholas System; A three years later, Saltu was about to pass through the Ether, and every living creature on Saltu was about to be destroyed; G-Man defeated Nox and became new king of Saltu; They went through the nebula that surrounded the Nicholas System and into the portal; G-Man led an evacuation of everyone on the planet; They wound up at the Citadel, where they stayed until they could return to Saltu
