I wish you people had this much enthusiasm for the 1st amendment over the last 3 years as you all seem to have now when it come to sexually explicit books for minors

If only there was some way to attach a pedophile to every act of censorship....

The only state where the law was carried out without bias was in Utah in one school district where the Bible was banned.

I don't think this is bout caring for children or sexually explicit content... If there was only a way to get a non hyper partisan legislature in a red state beyond Utahs single school district...

That's bias against religion

What makes you think so?

The Utah bill expands on a 2022 law that allows parents to challenge books in schools. The draft summary states that books that don't meet the objective standard are reviewed for subjective sensitive content. This includes materials that don't have serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value, and that parents are included in the review process. Students may be able to access the material with parental permission during the review process.

The bill also allows school district administrators to remove books that are considered "objective sensitive material" without facing committee review.

I see no bias. In fact, this is the first time that I see these book bans be completely fair.

But the books teaching kids about sexuality have tons of sexual concepts and yet they're allowed

Which person is easier to take advantage of (in principle)? The ignorant, or the informed?

The ignorant, that why books are teaching kids about sexuality

Bingo.
Which is why the bible (which has rape in it) was banned.
Better to educate children younger about what is and isn't appropriate than to leave them in ignorance until they turn twelve.

Oh, but the children's bibles are good
0 ups, 2mo
Even children's bibles have violence and gore in them. Far beyond what most would consider child appropriate. They still have animal and human sacrifice.

Would you allow books on paganism, wicca, islam, satanism, scientology, The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Books from Jehova's Witness and sikhism? Or would you ban them as well, but not mainstream christianity books?

That's someone's religion, and what right do we have to intrude

And that's a fair statement. Should we introduce laws based on those religions?

We have the first amendment which covers freedom of religion

That doesn't answer the question. What do you do when you have two religions with conflicting religious laws that both want to have their religious laws legislated into government - the two laws cannot coexist. How does the first amendment play into this?

The only religion is to prevent people from forcing their religion

Uh... what? The only religion is to prevent people from forcing their religion?
