“The Gear Project” was something GameFreak did back in the late 2010s to try and create a secondary series that can rival Pokémon, aiming for other platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, none of the ideas they created ever worked out, but gear project was being developed by “production team A” instead of “production team B”, meaning that gear project was being PRIORITIZED over Pokémon, the gear project eventually got shut down around the time sword and shield was being developed though, but this is probably the reason why SwSh has half the dex, bland animations, and N64 ahh trees, this could have affected SV too as usually the game after that goes into development around the same time, that could be why the game was so glitchy around launch, people are saying that GameFreak is “money hungry” and “making unfinished games”, it could be because the series was being less prioritized over indie-level games that never did well
