well we aren't sure how the universe ends, it could be that gravity is getting stronger and the universe will stop expanding and eventually shrink down to a singularity again, thus allowing a "reset".
or gravity could be unchanging and eventually the universe will slowly putter out and end with all energy being so spread out that it almost doesn't exist.
