HOW TO MAKE YOUR OC DESIGN MEMORABLE IN 3 STEPS:; Step 1: Silhouette
Your characters should be easily recognizable even if it only the silhouette of the character; Example (my oc Nova); OH WOW LOOK IT STILL IS A TERRIBLY CROPPED NOVA; OH WOW LOOK IS A TERRIBLY CROPPED WILD NOVA; Its very obvious she is a space-related demon or dragon character because of her EXAGGERATED features like her star, planet, horns and wings; I can improve this design by adding a large dragon tail to EMPHASIZE the fact that she is a dragon, not a demon; Step 2: Color palette
Your characters color palette will effect the viewers perspective on what kind of character your character is; Knowledge on color theory will help A LOT in this step.
For example: Bright colors give an energetic and happy look to your character. Darker colors give a elegant and moody look to you character. EXAMPLES:; Oh yes, and dont have too many colors on your character, I would say the MAX is 5 (dont forget white and black are considered colors too but outlines dont count); Step 3: Exaggeration
Whatever you decide to add to you character MAKE SURE TO EXAGGERATE THOSE POINTS; For example, if you characters a demon character, add bat-like demon wings and large horns and other demon motifs to your character (ex; tail, claws); Make it obvious that your character is what it is. Even if its not a humanoid and its a normal human then think about how they dress (ex; goth, basic). EXAGGERATE IT. Like for example, your characters very goth. Make those platform boots very large.
