My lore event is finally here

Gingerbread Man ate his breakfast, watching the Citadel News Channel. As he sat there, a news story appeared on the TV.
"Breaking news," said Draconic news anchor Lisa. "A wrecked escape pod has been found near the Citadel, about a lightyear out. It appears to have suffered heavy damage, with gaping holes in the sides and debris floating around it. Recordings were recovered from the mission log, which tell a tale of how a ship entered a mysterious portal to a strange universe, before it was subsequently attacked somehow."
Gingerbread Man watched and listened with alarm. Something felt unusual about this.
"Hey dad!" Jonathan said, entering the living room alongside his girlfriend Eclipse. "Whatcha watching?"
"There was this disturbing news flash," G-Man answered. "Something about a wrecked escape pod, and a portal to a mysterious universe."
"That doesn't sound good," Eclipse remarked.
At that moment, the doorbell rang. Jonathan went to open it. Standing there was Awenasa, except something was different about her. She seemed to be glowing white somehow.
"I need to speak with King Stantz," she told Jonathan. "It's urgent."
"What is it, Awenasa?" Gingerbread Man asked. "Also why is your skin glowing?"
"Long story short, I found the Amplification Crystal and used it to expand my powers," Awen said. "But that's not why I'm here. I've been having strange visions of a dead universe full of destroyed planets and cloudy stardust... I don't know what it means."
"Wait a second," G-Man paused her. He glanced at the TV again.
"The recordings," said the anchor, "described this universe as being full of planets that had been smashed to pieces and nebula clouds obscuring view. We don't know what this means, but the proper authorities will need to investigate these portals further..."
"That sounds exactly like my vision," Awen agreed. "But what does this mean?"
G-Man took a deep breath.
"It means we'll have to see it ourselves."

The four of them arranged a battleship for traveling into this mysterious portal. They made sure every generator was charged to maximum power, then proceeded for liftoff. After an hour, they arrived at the portal.
"Have all weapons online," Gingerbread Man told Jonathan and Eclipse. "We don't know what's going to be in there."
The battleship entered the portal, slowly but surely. G-Man and Awen looked out at the universe. Several large rocky planets floated about, large chunks missing from them. The debris from the planets formed large asteroid clusters.
They soon reached a large planet, broken up like the rest, and decided to land there to see what they could see. G-Man checked the atmosphere readings first.
"The atmosphere has somehow been ripped up," Gingerbread Man reported.
"We will need spacesuits to go out there," Awen said. "Let's gear up."

The four of them donned spacesuits and stepped off the battleship.
"Have your weapons ready," Awen said. "We don't know what might be here."
The planet was bare, full of nothing but gray dust deserts and random craters here and there. Jonathan took a step forward and before he knew it, the dust beneath him gave way and he fell into a deep pit.
"Jonathan!" Eclipse shrieked. "What just happened?"
"Guys!" Jonathan called up. "You've gotta see this!"
Awen fetched rappelling equipment from the battleship (please don't ask why there's rappelling equipment on a Dirkalf battleship) and brought it out. She threw the rope down, and she, Eclipse, and Gingerbread Man went down.
"Whoa," G-Man gasped.
Jonathan stood in a gigantic cavern of bioluminescent fungi and algae. The multicolored glow illuminated the entire space. There were even some strange insects flying around the cave.
"This is beautiful," Eclipse said.
"Let's go explore more of these planets," Awen suggested.
They spent a few hours traveling to different planets in the universe. One was a gigantic dried-up ocean, one had a giant subterranean jungle, and one was full of rocky desert canyons. But they all had one thing in common:
A gigantic chunk had been ripped from each of them.
"What do you think happened?" Gingerbread Man mused.
"I don't know, but it can't be good," Awen commented.

Almost as soon as she said that, a large creature appeared seemingly out of nowhere. It looked similar to the Limitless Devourer or Limitless Reaper, only much, much, MUCH bigger.
"G3T 0UT," growled this Limitless creature, "0R Y0U'R3 5H1P W1LL M33T 1T5 3ND 4T TH3 CL4W5 0F TH3 R1PP3R 0F W0RLD5!!!!!"
Gingerbread Man quickly turned the battleship around, and they zoomed straight back to the portal.
"TH4T'5 R16HT!" boomed the Ripper of Worlds. "Y0U'D 83TT3R RUN!!!"
Before leaving, however, Jonathan ran some scans of the nearby planets. Once they were safely back in their universe, Jonathan showed his dad, Eclipse, and Awen the readings.
"Those planets were rich on all sorts of minerals and metals that aren't even on the periodic table," he reported.
"Interesting," G-Man nodded. "But would it really be worth returning to that hellhole for?"
Awen sighed. "I have no clue. We'll just have to see."
"I'll address the multiverse about this," Gingerbread Man said. "But I can't tell what might happen."
