actually the lore is from a version of Josiah who lost most of his friends in one day, and then proceeds to almost kill himself with a shotgun, decide not to, slowly become jaded and detached, and proceeds to blow this timeline's Cory's head off because he can't cope with the fact that practically all of his other friends are dead. He used the same shotgun.
