Ikr. Youtube shorts is really addicting for 2 main reasons. 1. Scrolling. Scrolling is easy to get used to, and it isn't a difficult task for your brain to preform, therefore it gets addicting very quickly. 2. Cringe: Some yt shorts are just so horrifically weird and cringe that you feel like you HAVE to rewatch it to understand what's going on.
