Mid-Endgame
A cutscene plays after Phantom’s death earlier in the game. When he falls over dead, a jar strapped to his belt breaks. A jar full of Corrupt Substance. The stuff consumes him quickly and we never see him again.
Fast forward to late game. Wymar is walking down a road and encounters a shadowy figure. It is indeed Soulless Phantom.

Without anything else happening, they fight.
Soulless Phantom’s fight works a lot differently that Normal Phantom’s. First of all, he only uses a sword. However, this sword is twice as powerful. Second of all, his speed increases as his health decreases to the point where he becomes impossible to outrun.
At 50%, his sword deals twice as much damage, dealing 4 times what Phantom’s sword did.
At 10%, he goes into a rage and summons the power of the corrupt substance to become his final form- Corruption Phantom (what Phantom’s soul fought in part 3 of that story I wrote). His sword is replaced by a blade made of the substance, and his eyes turn from purple to a bright red. His attacks kill in almost 1 shot, as well as dealing a slowness debuff towards the player. The battle is mostly about parrying.
At 1%, you slice his arm off in a cutscene. SP will start corrupting the land around the player, trapping them. In an epic QTE, you fend off the corrupt substance with your axe while dodging SP’s attacks. Finally, in a feat of pure epicness, you jump up and GRAB A BIRD! Knowing you’ll die if you land, you throw the bird at SP’s direction. There’s an explosion, and there’s nothing left but you and the dead body of a Normal Phantom. You walk away.
