Phantom ran and ran. There was no hiding from his soulless body. And what could he do to fight? He was just a ghost now. The only thing he could think of doing was going back into the substance.

He ran some more. He could hear Soulless Phantom getting closer and closer.

Phantom drew his sword. Soulless Phantom drew its sword. It was time to battle.

Phantom slashed at his opponent. Since the Corrupt substance was not a living being, but more of an infectious plant, Phantom was able to interact with it. However, in this new form, Soulless Phantom was much more powerful. Just one hit could end Phantom once and for all.

Soulless Phantom gathered up all of the Corrupt Substance he could and created a blade. He slashed at Phantom, and he quickly blocked it.

The two continued to battle, until it happened.

A single bird landed on top of Soulless Phantom.
The bird was absorbed, and Soulless Phantom let out a scream. It turns out the substance can only extract the soul of one being at a time! There was a flash of light, and Phantom was sent flying.

Phantom soon woke up, laying washed up on the shore of a lake. He had the same clothing as Soulless Phantom on. He did not remember anything that happened. All he remembered is that there’s a very aggressive bird lurking around.

The substance isn’t growing anymore. People came to the conclusion that the substance only spreads because it’s trying to find something to absorb. So as long as nobody kills that bird, we’ll be fine.
