Part 2: Mirror

Phantom saw the thing in the doorway. It was a humanoid figure, but Phantom just woke up and his vision was too blurred to see it clearly.

“ H̵̯͠e̸̔͜l̷͖̀l̶̢̚ō̶̞,̵͒͜ ̴̤̅J̴̙͝ẹ̷̎r̸̜̈ë̴͖́m̸̯̐y̷̥̓.̸̝̂ ̴͚͂Ȉ̸͜’̶͇̂v̵̨̇ë̸̤́ ̵̻̃b̶̛̠è̵̝e̵̱͋n̶̥̋ ̵͚̐w̴͈̿i̴̹̊l̶̫̂l̸͍͛ǐ̶̧n̵̩͛g̶͇̏ ̷̲͝t̴̡̄o̶̝̒ ̵̪̏m̸̬͝è̷̙è̷̹t̸̬̒ ̴͎̔ỳ̷͉o̷͇͠û̸̥ ̵̯́f̶̩͑ȏ̸͙ȑ̴ͅ ̷͙͂ặ̸ ̴͍̏l̷̘̀o̵̳̍ò̵͓ơ̴̜o̴̪̿o̴̥͌n̶̙̐g̷̟͝ ̸̹̐ț̴̓ï̶̥m̶͙̿ȇ̶̻.”

“How do you know my name?”

“Listen.” Phantom got up and rubbed his eyes. He picked up his katana. “I don’t know who you are. But you’re gonna have to do a lot more that a monologue to get rid of me.

“ O̵̯͌f̸̞̃ ̷͉́c̵̕ͅo̷̧̔u̸̻̒ṙ̸̭s̸͚̐e̵̥͝.̷̯̚ ̷̯̓I̸͔͝ ̷̺̋s̵̛̝h̵̺͊o̸̯̽ủ̵̪l̴̼̈́d̴͉̊ ̶̟́ḳ̸̈́i̷͔̿l̴̦̀ľ̶̖ ̸͙͒y̵͔͘ö̷͚́ů̵͍ ̷͎͗ñ̷͎o̷̙͐ẅ̸̗́ ̴͉͒w̴͕̏h̶̨̏i̴̜̽l̵̤̓e̵͔͒ ̷̇ͅÿ̷͎́ō̴̥ȗ̸̦’̸̻̅r̵̝͌e̴̪̓ ̸͙̎s̶̩̓ț̶̀î̸̙ḽ̷̓l̷̗̔ ̵͕̀h̷̘̄a̴̹͌l̵̕ͅf̵̣̊-̶͖̊ă̴͓s̵̟͂l̵̡̚ë̵̦́ę̵͌p̴͈͊.̸̮͌”

The figure pulled a sword out of nowhere. Phantom could see its gleam in the moonlight. It was made of gold, but something powerful, something dangerous radiated off of it.
Was it… magic?

The figure ran through the doorway and struck the sword at Phantom. He quickly dodged to the side.

“Two can play at that game.” Phantom drew his sword and lunged at the figure! The sword went through its heart… or it appeared that way. Both the sword and Phantom passed through it.

“ A̴̤͆h̵̠̎å̸̱h̷̠̊a̶̤͌h̸̛̯ḁ̷́…̴̣́ ̷͇́ḟ̶̘o̴̯͠o̶̯̿l̸̰̐ĭ̷͔s̴͖̄ḧ̸̲.̵̖̎”

Phantom’s vision started to get clearer. He noticed the figure looked a lot like… himself?

No. It couldn’t be. But it was him. Only a very dead, very purple version of him.

Phantom’s body drew its sword, and charged at Phantom. Phantom’s soul quickly evaded its attacks, and dashed out of the door. He needed to find a way to fix this, fast.

"I'm so far gone, not even I recognize myself in the broken mirror..."
