Fur tutorial
Step one ( red arrow)
Fur direction and basic shading
Use Round brush (particle)

Step two ( green arrow)
Overlay with pale color of the base color using Blurring brush 5, which is used for steps 2-5 Follow fur direction and don’t completely cover the base layer

Step three ( blue arrow)
Slightly darker overlay. (Still lighter then goal color) Approximately the same as step 2 (darker over the shadows and lighter over the highlights)

Step four (purple arrow)
Cover with final color. Darker on the shadows, less on the highlights. Don’t fully cover, allow the previous two layers to show slightly.

Step 5 (no arrow)
Final highlights
Go over with a very pale color for highlights. High opacity

Note: This is the base. I do about 10 more things to make a finished realistic fur drawing
