In English, insect names usually don't have derivatives reffering to male/female gender.
Plus, the males still exist

But the males don’t bite

but they stil exist and live. by all means call the ones that bite you mosquitas but that's grammaticaly and biologically incorrect.

Then call those mosquitoes but still
