Weird? Tell me more. Like, pedophile weird? If that's what you mean, that isn't a part of LGBTQ+ at all. If you're talking about less common genders or sexualities, then that shouldn't be a problem. Rarity has nothing to do with worth or whether or not you accept somebody. Everyone is valid, unless they're zoophiles, pedos, etc.
Hon, that isn't just LGBTQ+. Every single community out there has weird ships. They're fictional characters and there's no harm in shipping them, even if it is a bit strange.
Everybody has a potential for being toxic. It's not a thing specific to queer people. Queer people can be toxic, I'm not saying we're saints or anything, but labeling it as something specific to members of LGBTQ+ is a hurtful assumption. If you've had bad experiences, that's due to a person, not their gender or sexuality.
Again, that is not something specific to queers. Don't slap labels on us because of certain people. Also, assuming the worst may be associated with having valid reasons. A lot of us have been burned, and it's safer for our mental and sometimes physical health to assume someone is homophobic before opening up about things. Just be patient and don't take things the wrong way until you have confirmation about their intentions.
I've explained this a lot before, so I'll try to keep it brief. Pedophiles, zoophiles, and other repulsive and predatory sexualities are not a valid part of, nor will ever be a valid part of the community. They have been associated with us and now are used as a label for the entire queer community. I've been called a pedophile on multiple occasions. I am very against pedophilia, but the association has been creating more and more homophobes as well as community hate. It needs to stop.
Again, refer to #2. Everywhere has this type of ship. Not LGBTQ+ exclusive.
Um, what? I get that there are some straight allies that question and think they're queer, but turn out to be straight. That happens. But you think half of the community is just faking it for attention/confused? I'd love to hear more about why you think this. Most people in the community are legitimately queer.
