While I agree that veterans or men's mental health should get a month, there's still a really good reason and meaning for pride month
It originated from the Stonewall Riots on June 28, 1969, when a huge fight between previously innocent people at a gay bar and either police or homophobes or both (i don't remember which exactly) took place
Several gay people were murdered during this time period, and that's where the idea for pride month came from
At this point, it's been commercialized so much that people don't even realize what it's about anymore, and so by extent people also think it's just some bullshit because gay people are bullied. It's for actual people who actually were killed and lynched, and it's trying to get more positive awareness so that something like the Stonewall Riots doesn't happen again
