Heavenly Father,
You have willed that nature should not be deceived.
A tree is only as strong as the depth of its roots,
and in stormy winds the tree knows that it must reach into the depths
to give itself the foundation that will sustain it.
People, however, can be deceived.
A man is only as strong as the depth of his faith,
the bank of his wisdom,
and the solidity of his heart.
With all the deception running amok in today's world,
it would do people good to ground themselves like a tree,
dig deep, feel the dirt, look to the sky,
and listen to the whisper of Your Word.
