The culture is a mix of 70s, 80s and 90s, video games are mostly in 16-bit era, although the computers there are powerful enough to run the Internet (albeit in the 90s-era) and Adobe Flash games and while there are PS2s, PSPs, DS and some modern-day 3D games (Koikatsu, Waifu S Simulator and MakeOut Girls are one of the few), they're very expensive, cars are from 80s with 1930s wheels, the cellphones are from late 2000s (with 90s Internet capability), no streaming services (vinyls, CDs, or cassettes are common), LaserDisc is the most popular video format, with VHS being a most-used VCR, most modern anime, manga (and manhwa/manhua), donghua and VNs (both professional and doujin) exist, but have a 90s/80s look (some mid-2000s), the music is similar to 80s and 90s (so BABYMETAL exists, but is 80sized, but synthwave is exactly the same as it is in our universe), smartwatches look like 2000s cellphones, fashion is very 80s and 90s (with some 60s and 50s elements), the Streamline Moderne architecture is mixed with Googie, New Formalism and 80s Futurism, most Western and some Soviet cartoons (and pretty much all Donghua) of 20th and 21st century are anime made in Japan, Modulex is popular with professional architects, most radio units were made in CCCP, Rule34 exists (again retrostyled), the medicine is the same as in our world, Kisekae (as a game) exists with both modern and retro versions, Minecraft is in 2D (most mods exist), cuisine is similar to modern-day, CRTs are a commonplace, there is no Linux (but rather, UNIX got GPL'd), Coca-Cola's formula remains unchanged from the original 1886 incarnation, Google didn't exist (Yahoo and webTV do), anime figurines remain the same, and VR is in 2.5D.
