If you didn't know the term.."colored people" is very racist. If you didn't know that, here you go.

I grew up in a time when "Colored" was acceptable by everyone including black people. I believe Jesse Jackson made the phrase "African-American" popular. Many black people said I'm no African-American, I've never even been to Africa, just call me colored or black.
