Remy served under the US to fight in Vietnam and crush the communist regime. In 1972, Remy was separated with his squadron but found himself near a dying platoon of allied South Korean soldiers. One skinny young man, puts his helmet on his M16 barrel, and sticks it out of the door which is immediately shot by Vietcong, which were quickly closing in on their location. Remy agreed with the younger man and the middle aged buff man, to take the risk of directly attacking their position by suicide bombing the approaching hostiles, and save the lives of the 2 South Korean soldiers. He passed away, but managed to kill off several vietcong and injure 15 more in the blast, which gave the 2 SK soldiers time to get backup from US soldiers. Remy was awarded after his death with the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Medal of Honor, and the Medal of Heroism.
