Jeremy Charles Miller, soon to be known as the mercenary Phantom, was born into a wealthy family located in Chicago, Illinois in 2004. Soon after his parent’s deaths in 2010, Jeremy was forced to live on the streets for years. That all changed on Feburary 19, 2017 when a terrible government project plotted to get rid of the homeless population of Chicago. The project involved herding them all into a shelter on the countryside before destroying them all with a chemical bomb. Luckily, Jeremy survived due to him being outside chasing a squirrel while all this happened. Of course, he didn’t get off scot-free. When the explosion happened, he was positioned behind a rock in such a way that the chemicals released from the explosion only affected his face, which now released deadly toxins when exposed to oxygen.
Now alone, wanted by the government and without money, Jeremy lived on the streets by himself, and often used a knife to get out of situations. This led to his current love of swords today.
In 2024, the government eventually found him. However, due to his expertise in combat and stealth, they decided to instead enlist him in the U.S. military as a stealth operative.
For over 20 years, Jeremy worked tirelessly for the military, performing countless amounts of successful missions and visiting countless amounts of countries. Until one mission changed it all in 2043.
Jeremy, now better known as “Agent Phantom”, was assigned to infiltrate a weapons manufacturer’s hideout on a remote island. Their name was The Mechanic (an oc i’ll post later). The Mechanic was infamous for creating experimental bioweapons and selling them to terrible people. Phantom went on the mission alone, as he had over 20 years of stealth experience. He could do this himself. And he did eventually capture The Mechanic, but not before he destroyed the helicopter he was being carried away on, sacrificing himself to avoid arrest. Phantom was stranded on this island.
Rescue helicopters came for, but then Phantom had an epiphany while getting on: He never got to make decisions for himself. Only 6 of those years were spent like that, and even those were short. The rest were spent foraging for food on the streets and taking orders. So he refused to be rescued, and instead lived by himself, not under the watch of a government.
Phantom lived out the rest of his days inside a ranger tower, in a state of lonely, almost depressed rage. He didn’t care what happened to him anymore. He was out for revenge- not just against The Mechanic, but against all criminals out there. He became a cold, nameless, and heartless mercenary who hunts down anyone who dares to hurt another.
