stolen gear is the biggest issue with bands. It happened to metallica of all people. Did your father ever get another guitar?

Well, he did get another guitar, but then someone broke into their practice room and stole that guitar aswell. They also stole one amp. I think that was in the late 80s. There were a lot of bands who had their practice rooms near theirs and it happened all the time that other people's gear got stolen.

that sucks. I hope your guitar doesn't get stolen too!

There's practically no chance that it'll get stolen, because I don't play in a band. I would love to tho, but I just can't seem to find anyone my age who'd be interested in playing in a rock/metal band.

its actually a custom acoustic bass guitar.

my grandpa was in a band, and when they broke up he donated the acoustic guitar and acoustic bass guitar back to the shop that built them.

the guitar sold but the bass didn't.

so like 2 years ago, he brought up that they had this acoustic bass guitar he had donated 20 years before. Coincidentally, the music shop he donated them to was only 15 miles from my house. (he lives 8 hours away from me) So he said that he would call the guy and we could pick it up for free.

and that is how I got it.

That's a really cool story. My grandpa wasn't in a band, but my father was. He made a guitar himself. It looked a bit like Gene Simmons' axe. Sadly it got stolen.
