Jeans - If you can, but from the men's section. I especially recommend the slim and skinny fit types, since they're more form-fitting and, in my experience, more comfortable. Another added bonus is the pockets, they're way bigger and can fit, if you know how to pack them, a group of like 10 people phones distributed throughout just the front two pockets (not an exaggeration, I've done this before). Another added bonus is that they don't have one of those little adjustment straps on the inside, which means you can wear a belt, and depending on the type of belt, you can pull off a lot of different looks
Socks - Unless you're an ankle sock kind of person, men's socks, especially the long black performance socks, are what you want to get. They can go up pretty high, they're soft, and they match just about anything. I pretty much only wear long blacks socks anymore, all year round.
Pants overall - If you want a more androgynous or masculine look, go for jeans, since they can be pretty gender-neutral, especially if you use men's jeans, they look a lot more natural and less stretched. However, if you're looking for a more feminine look, if your a trans woman or enby just trying look fem, I suggest sweatpants, and one you can get stuff done to remove a bulge if you have one, then I recommend leggings, especially those Fabletics things that have pockets that rival men's sweatpants for depth. They're form-fitting, and from what I've heard, pretty damn comfortable and breathable.
Shorts - Depends on the look you're going for. Usually, especially for if you want to look androgynous or masculine, go for men's cargo or normal pocket shorts. I also recommend men's athletic shorts, but I'd you have balls then putting your phone on those is playing with death. But these shorts will give you a big more of an "I don't care too much" or "ready for anything" kind of look, which I know some people really want to pull off. If you want to look more fem, then I recommend trying to find jean shorts, which are most common on the woman's variety. If you don't fit in them, then take some old jeans you can get at a thrift store for like 5 bucks and get a friend who sews (or hire a professional) to hem them for you; this will let you turn your full-length jeans into shorts for a pretty low price
Well that's my guide to dressing androgynous or trans. If I left anything out, feel free to add on and have fun clothes shopping!
