Unfortunately, this is true.
Although there are some anime where this makes sense. For instance, No Game No Life. literally no one who's seen this anime, if they head that there's an entire shipping community around Sora and Shiro (Brother and Sister) would be like "Huh. I don't see it."
That aside, NGNL is a good anime watch it.
