Obviously there are some exceptions (the first few evil dead movies and other dark comedies for splatterpunk), but splatterpunk really ruined the horror genre. (Turning everything into excessive blood instead of actual horror)
And monster romance, is just awful. All i need to say is the word "twilight" and you get what i mean.
