So I'm in DJ club, and we handle the lights and sound and stuff at prom and homecoming at our highschool
After prom, we had to tear everything down and move it to our box truck, which was a hassle since the lights are absolutely huge and the loading dock was really far away. But the hard part was getting it out of the truck back at the school
We took out the lights last since they're biggest and scariest, and it got exciting taking out the first one
So we had like three or four people on the truck who were moving it towards the back to get it out, since it's big and probably fifteen or so feet long, made of metal, covered in heavy electronics, and probably weights a total of around 700+ pounds. The plan was for them to get it to the end of the truck, then lower one end down for me and my friend Lila to grab it while some of the people in the truck got off to get the other end. Notice I said that was the plan
What happened was that Cassie, who's an alumni who comes back to help us, was getting close to the edge, which was farther out since we had the lift thing up. She realized she was getting really close to the edge and tried to say something, but it's not easy to stop a 700 pound truss covered in lights being carried by four people. So Cassie fell of the edge
She landed on her feet, and the lights didn't fall or anything since me and Lila were there and caught it, but it was quite the scare since that was like a three and a half foot drop
Also kind of related but not really, whenever we have to move those things long distances, we have to put them on these little carts, but these carts are literally a couple of 2x4s screwed together with wheels on the bottom, which makes it really dangerous to move them, since it still can lean and stuff, so every time we move them long distances they tend to almost fall a lot
