I may not know everything about police, but I do know that you're not supposed to just stand out there counting on your fingers how many children die.

They aren't waiting for anything. You have to count the time it takes for someone to call the police, the time it takes for that message to get sent out, the time it takes for them to arrive to the emergency and the time it takes for them to neutralize the threat.

Put it simply, the police cannot magically teleport whenever an emergency happens.

This isn't worth my time.

First of all, calm down. I'm just some guy on the internet. Second, I was just saying that if people are scared to save lives (which is exactly why they are doing that job), then many people would die rather than the few.

P.S: Not saying that what a police officer does is easy, no one wants to give up their life easily, but the choice must be made, and only one is right.

2. We? As in citizens? If so, why would you own a shotgun? They're super slow to pull out, so they are bad for defense (and overkill), second, I'm pretty sure no one uses shotguns for hunting. Rifles are better

They take a long time to get to a ton of locations. Shotguns are used as self defense.

The reason shotguns are used over rifles in hunting is because they have a spread, which makes it easier to hit your target (flying birds.)
