You really don’t need to clutch fall damage in Terraria. If you’ve been playing for a decent amount of time, you have at least one of the things that -Nugget- mentioned. Also, climbing gear, grappling hooks, rocket boots or its upgrades, a flying mount, etc..

indeed well all that is true... I just never bothered to use rope, once I found out you could pick up water and use recall potions...

plus its safer as you can place water mid air in terraria
