that's true. Dragons also technically have 6 legs. they have the back legs, front legs, and wings which if you really think about it the wings are also technically "legs". dragons with wings for front legs have 4 legs, but those aren't dragons, they're wyverns. Dragons are more insect than centaur though, since dragons have exoskeleton-like scales

Insects have three different types of legs, but arachnids have two different types of legs.
Centaurs are arachnids hiding a pair of legs

Centaurs are NOT insects because they do not have an exoskeleton, because one of the characteristics of insects are exoskeletons.
