The books are better than Star-Wars, the movies for Dune aren't so good I admit. I mean, I'm getting into Star-Wars, but still.

Dune has several things about it that Star Wars ripped off. BUt the main plot is that several political houses each with specializations ( the main ones have ancestral genetic memory, ) fighting over a planet named Arrakis that has Melange, a drug that creates precognitive physics and enables accurate space travel.
