Introductory paragraph draft on my fox facts essay for Nozomi_Official; Foxes
Foxes are a species of mammal belonging to the Canidae family, also known as the dog family. The Canidae family mainly consists of foxes, wolves, jackals, dogs, and coyotes. The family also consists of many subspecies, most of them being closely related to the species mentioned before. Foxes are medium-sized canines with pelts ranging with color from bright white to orange, red, and black. (Usually these pelt colors are adaptations to their environment, take the example of arctic foxes, which have white pelts to allow them to blend into the snow.) They can be easily recognized by their bushy tails and triangular, upright ears. The species fox is made up by twelve monophyletic subspecies—meaning they share similar and close descent. These species are spread across the globe, foxes inhabiting all but one continent. (Antarctica.)
