People who don't play chess aren't going to get this, so for those of you who don't play, 2 common opening moves in chess are to move the king's pawn (the E pawn) forward 2 spaces (to E4), or to do the same with the queen's pawn (the D pawn), moving it forward 2 spaces (to D4).
