Yeah… Even worse, when all the soldiers finally got home, they were treated horribly. Prosthetic limbs were VERY underdeveloped back then, and were quite expensive, so most soldiers who had lost arms or legs had to manage without. Few jobs were available, since most of them had been taken by women during the war. The Federal Government also happened to “forget” about the money promised to veterans after the war was over. And just when they “remembered” The Great Depression hit, so the money was pretty much worthless anyway.
