It's been 3 years since you defeated the Darkest Lord and gave the Dark Curse a face.
You just got done completing a quest, and as you make your way back to the Traveler's Hub, something is off. A dark sky looms over the Hub, and two traveler's faces have been stolen. As you walk around, talking to the travelers that have been spared, they claim a cloaked figure stole the faces and then went north.
You come across a crumpled yet unfolded note on the ground that is addressed to you that reads:

"[Insert you/your party leader's name here]
I hope this letter finds you well.
I'll be honest, it's been some time since we last saw each other. But, perhaps that could be remedied at some point, if you wish to truly return peace to Miitopia.

Meet me at the top of the Sky Scraper."

*A faceless traveler looks at you, cowering in fear.*

Erin: *she walked over* I know you can't quite speak, but can you still talk to me through body language?

*The faceless traveler just sits there, doing nothing. Another traveler, not faceless, also looks at you*
Traveler: "Please, just go wherever it is you need to go. I don't know what sort of situation this is, whether or not the Dark Lord is back or something, just please, help."

Erin: of course *she stood up and took a bow before leaving*

*Dominic the dragon growls, trying to get your attention.*

Erin: yes yes, I'm here Dominic

*Dominic tilts his head*
Dominic: "Is something going on? Because whatever it is, I can help!"

Erin: Yeah, we need to head up to the tower

Dominic: "Hop on! But, uh, what even happened around here?"

Erin: don't know

*They sigh, averting their gaze.*
The Great Sage: "He wanted to return to being the Dark Curse, and I refused to cast away his face. He made me kill him."
*The Sage glances back at you, a hint of contempt in their eyes*
The Great Sage: "And this is of your doing, as you gave him a face instead of choosing to break the Curse."

Erin: *she looked down in shame*

*The Great Sage turns back around, and something in the back of your head tells you, 'No, it's not your fault. You didn't know what would happen.'*

Erin: well I'll use the best of my power to stop it

The Great Sage: ". . ."
*Green lightning strikes right in front of you*

Erin: ?!

*The Sage pulls two crumpled pieces of paper out of a pocket, trying to smooth them out. The two stolen faces from earlier fly over, attaching themselves to the papers*

Erin: *more ?!*

The Great Sage: "So? Are you prepared to fight me? Or will you just stand there and take it?"

Erin: oh I- I'll fight

*After a few hours of walking to the top, the feeling of electricity in the air gets stronger and stronger until a hooded figure stands with their back to you, shadowed in the light of the Otherworld portal. They hold a staff, something you haven't seen in three years, not since after the battle against the Darkest Lord...
You immediately know who this person is.*

*They sigh*
"Our friend that you so kindly gave a face is now... dead."

Dominic: "Huh..."

Erin: my guess is, the dark lord's back

Dominic: "Didn't you defeat the Darker Lord, though? And then you gave the Dark Curse a face? Shouldn't that have put a stop to it?"

Erin: maybe...

Dominic: "Hmm."
*He lands in front of the Sky Scraper*

Erin: Thanks Dominic

*He nods. You notice that the door to the Sky Scraper is wide open for some reason. It's almost intimidating.*
