It's been 3 years since you defeated the Darkest Lord and gave the Dark Curse a face.
You just got done completing a quest, and as you make your way back to the Traveler's Hub, something is off. A dark sky looms over the Hub, and two traveler's faces have been stolen. As you walk around, talking to the travelers that have been spared, they claim a cloaked figure stole the faces and then went north.
You come across a crumpled yet unfolded note on the ground that is addressed to you that reads:

"[Insert you/your party leader's name here]
I hope this letter finds you well.
I'll be honest, it's been some time since we last saw each other. But, perhaps that could be remedied at some point, if you wish to truly return peace to Miitopia.

Meet me at the top of the Sky Scraper."

Me: *reads the rest of it.* Alright. Time to go to the Sky Scraper, I suppose!

The Great Sage: "So, I want your input on this, first, what is it that you think has happened?"

Me: My guess is that the Dark Lord is back...

The Great Sage: "No. Although there is the matter of the Dark Curse..."

Me: Right...

The Great Sage: "...Our friend that you so kindly gave a face is now... dead."

Me: Dead?
Me: What happened?

*They sigh, averting their gaze.*
The Great Sage: "He wanted to return to being the Dark Curse, and I refused to cast away his face. He made me kill him."
*The Sage glances back at you, a hint of contempt in their eyes*
The Great Sage: "And this is of your doing, as you gave him a face instead of choosing to break the Curse."

Me:*I am clearly surprised at the news of his death, but at the accusation, my face changes to anger.*
Me: Well, I'm sorry for thinking that he could change!

The Great Sage: ". . ."
*Green lightning strikes right in front of you*

Me: *I gasp in surprise*

*The Sage pulls two crumpled pieces of paper out of a pocket, trying to smooth them out. The two stolen faces from earlier fly over, attaching themselves to the papers*

Me: Hold on...
Me: I know we're about to have a fight
Me: But why do you have crumpled papers in your pockets-

The Great Sage: "I'm terrible at communication, that's why."

Me: Okay....
Me: Anyway... *pulls out knife.*

The Great Sage: "Hmm. I was hoping you'd accept the invitation to fight."

(Yup. I like my knives.)
Me: I'm not going to hurt you, but I will gladly murder your little paper pals.

*They cross their arms, unimpressed*

Me: What?
Me: We are...used to be... friends.
Me: I'm not willing to hurt you.

The Great Sage: ". . ."
*One of the paper monsters approaches you, about to attack*

Me: *I suddenly leap at it and slash through it.*

Dominic: "Hmm."
*He lands right in front of the Sky Scraper*

Me: Thank you! *I get off his back.*

*He nods. You notice that the door to the Sky Scraper is wide open for some reason. It's almost intimidating.*

Me: Ohhh-kay... Not going to ask... *I walk inside*

*The first thing you feel when you walk inside is the crackle of static electricity in the air...*

Me: That's shocking.

*After a few hours of walking to the top, the feeling of electricity in the air gets stronger and stronger until a hooded figure stands with their back to you, shadowed in the light of the Otherworld portal. They hold a staff, something you haven't seen in three years, not since after the battle against the Darkest Lord...
You immediately know who this person is.*
The Great Sage: "...Pleasure to see you again."

Me: Hey! How ya doin'?

The Great Sage: "..."
*They turn around*
The Great Sage: "This is no casual matter, old friend. We have something to discuss."

Me: Right.

*A faceless traveler looks at you, cowering in fear.*

Me, walking over to them: Hello! Um... Hey, can you point to where the monster that has your face is?

*The faceless traveler just sits there, doing nothing. Another traveler, not faceless, also looks at you*
Traveler: "Please, just go north, or wherever it is you need to go. I don't know what sort of situation this is, whether or not the Dark Lord is back or something, just please, help."

Me: *nods*

*Dominic the dragon growls, trying to get your attention.*

Me: *I turn* Dominic! Perfect timing! I need to get to the Sky Scraper!

*Dominic nods*
Dominic: "I thought something was going on. Whatever it is, I can help! Hop on!"

Me: *jumps onto Dominic's back*

*He rises into the air and starts flying toward the Sky Scraper*
Dominic: "Should I even ask what happened?"

Me: That was like that when I got here, I have no idea...
