this song was made because of the black plague meanings for each verse below

ring a round the rosey pocket full of posey - this means people carried around flowers hoping it would stop the plague from coming to them (it didn't help at all)

ashes ashes we all fall down - this means there were dead body's just sitting in the streets and (no I'm not kidding) people would just fall down in the middle of the street sometimes.

When you actually know the meanings the song sounds really sad (many other songs are like this to)

I did like an entire essay in the imgflip comments about this song once. I'm gonna try to find it

The history behind "Ring around the Rosie" is particularly dark. "Ring around the Rosie" is a reference to the black death (the whole rhyme is a reference to the black death tho) and how people that had the plaque would often be very pink or red due to extremely high fever induced by the plaque. "Pockets full of posies" is that the streets would be so littered with dead or dying people that people walking around would put heavily perfumed flowers in their pockets to help hide the stench. "Ashes, ashes, we all fall down." because so many people were dying they were often cremated to keep up with the people dying.
