I'm just pointing out, that unless it is a genderbend or something, you wouldn't walk up to like, Goku or something and say "she's so cool," because Goku is a man. Frisk is Nonbinary, and should be respected as such.
This isn't meant to be a huge chain argument, I'm just pointing out that the reasoning of "They are whatever I say they are" is flawed, since they are Toby Fox's character, not yours.
I understand people might misgender them by accident, not knowing they are enby.

They don't know, so they can assign a gender if they want, even if it isn't the right gender...

If they don't know, its okay... until they DO know. It is wrong to misgender someone once you know their appropriate pronouns. Mistakes can happen, and thats okay, as long as they are fixed.

Whenever I first looked at frisk, they looked more like a male character to me, but I never referred to them as "he/him". I always referred to them as "they/them" because I didn't know what their canon name was, and it's a video game character.

They are always referred to as "child" in the game, and most people just call them "some child" whenever they first start a let's play of it.
