when you don't understand the game but your still good

Played a game based on a anime and had no clue what was going on because I didn't watch it

I remember at a party when I first player super smash bros ultimate, and I had no idea what the controls did, but I played anyway. We played several rounds, all with eight players, and I did terribly for the most part. But there was one round where I got second place, and held my own against the last guy for a while too.
