I just think it's neat. the idea of it being the 'genetically perfect pokemon' and having not changed its appearance for millions of years is really interesting, and this and its being thought to be extinct line up perfectly with real-life coelacanths. (Note, a very close second is Tapu Fini)

I'm not even joking about the 'perfect pokemon' thing. Its UM entry literally states "The reason it hasn't changed at all in a hundred million years is that it's apparently already a perfect life-form." It is the perfect pokemon and as such deserved this place.
